Raise Our Voices brings Lafayette together to reflect and express on the topic of incarceration and social justice in Louisiana. Artist and poet Alex “PoeticSoul” Johnson will host a series of free spoken-word workshops in Spring 2019 as preparation for a performance held in conjunction with the exhibition, "Slavery, the Prison Industrial Complex: Photographs by Keith Calhoun and Chandra McCormick" at the Hilliard Art Museum - University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Free bus transportation is available to community members interested in participating in thee workshops and performances. 

Partners in this program include the Lafayette Public Library system, the Harambee Event Center, Acadiana Open Channel, and the Hilliard University Art Museum.
