LEARNing Initiative
Art generates joy, tears, curiosity and questions. Art sparks introspection, conversation and connection. And art speaks to every generation.
Thanks to a group of farsighted donors, we have developed our LEARNing Initiative, so that more people can experience art as a gateway to lifelong learning. Through this initiative, the Hilliard has added:
- tours and programming focused on current exhibits;
- a partnership with the Acadiana Center for the Arts that enables the AcA’s teaching artist to offer classes and hands-on activities at the Hilliard;
- staff member, Olivia Morgan, our in-house educator who serves area teachers by creating customized lesson plans, tours and activities; and
- materials and programs that plug seamlessly into K-12 educational standards, such as Common Core, and incorporate teaching methods such as arts integration and Visual Thinking Strategies.
The Museum is alive with learning. Visit or connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
